SoHo Dragon represents a Fortune 500 Financial Technology firm with offices in King of Prussia, PA that needs to hire a Sr Software Engineer - Java/ J2EE for a full time position.


Successful candidates will work with applications developers and infrastructure engineers to develop products, microservices, and the application infrastructure for clients next generation platform. 

Eligible candidates will be willing to keep pace with a group of talented Software Engineers while maintaining best practices and consistent conventions. They should be self-starters and able to collaborate effectively with their team lead and peers.

Basic responsibilities:

    • Implement new products and product features
    • Become a Subject Matter Expert and take full lifecycle development and ownership of various microservices, applications, app security infrastructure, CICD frameworks/infrastructure and drive them through to completion
    • Perform research to determine best technology/pattern to solve problems
    • Participate in and contribute to requirements gathering, design discussions, and code reviews
    • Mentor junior team members and collaborate in solving cross-cutting concerns for the platform


Required Skills:

    • 8+ years experience developing Java/J2EE applications
    • Spring MVC/Boot/Security
    • Microservice/REST/ services
    • Relational and NoSQL Databases (Oracle/Couchbase preferred)
    • Performance testing and tuning of applications, services, and underlying databases
    • 4 year degree (Computer Science preferred)


Preferred Skills:

    • Experience implementing Identity & Access Management frameworks, with expertise in OpenID Connect/OAuth2/SSO/SAML and supporting Authentication/Authorization models
    • Experience implementing containerized applications with Kubernetes
    • Experience developing event based applications (Rabbit MQ or Kafka preferred)
    • Application deployment/provisioning/app security frameworks like Ansible, Terraform, Hashicorp Vault
    • Experience with implementation of shared CI/CD frameworks, templates, and supporting infrastructure.
    • Payment/Fintech industry experience preferred
    • Experience building/maintaining high-scale transactional systems with high availability/DR and zero downtime
