SoHo Dragon represents an investment bank with offices in midtown Manhattan. Our client is looking to hire a Data Management Office, VP for a Full Time position.


  • This is for Full Time Employment for Direct Hire  with the Investment Bank
  • Interviews will be held via web conference call or phone


Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work on one or more of the following Pillars of the DMO:Data Management Operations Pillar:Data Lineage
    • Work closely with the different business functions in order to capture the Critical Data Elements (CDEs) used in their end-user processes
    • Work with the upstream data providers to capture the data lineage from downstream back to inception
    • Identify the CDEs’ Business and IT data owners throughout the data lineage chain
    Data Quality Profiling
    • Lead data quality workshops to recommend and capture business rules for the identified CDEs
    Data Quality Monitoring
    • Track and monitor the data quality issues that are discovered and provide status to senior management
    Data Quality Issue Remediation (once data quality issues are discovered)
    • Work with downstream business end-users in order to provide Tactical data quality remediation
    • Work with upstream source systems’ Operations and IT in order to provide Strategic data quality remediation work effort analysis, monitor progress and report status to senior management
  • Data Governance Pillar:Data Management Function Monitoring / Metrics ReportingRisk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA)
  • BCBS 239 Processes’ Alignment (Independent Assessment)
  • Training Development & Administration
  • Stay involved and up to date with the Industry’s best practices in the space of Data Governance and Data Management
  • Work closely with the Business Functions (Finance, Risk, Operations, HR, Compliance, Legal) and IT


Qualifications

  • Significant experience and track record of delivery of major risk and finance initiatives at large and complex financial institutions
  • Deep understanding of risk and finance processes as well as the technologies and data which enable these
  • Strong knowledge and experience of regulatory change management is preferred
  • Strong communication skills: Both written and oral with technical and non-technical staff
  • Tolerance and understanding in multi cultures
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics mathematics, physics or computer science
  • Master’s degree is preferred
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience
  • Intermediate level skills in SQL, Excel, Visio, MS Project, and PowerPoint (PPT)
